The factory twin turbo intake is a restriction point, and 20+ years of heat cycles haven’t helped.
The Roo Racing High Flow Inlet Hose is a direct replacement for the factory air inlet duct on Rev A-C BE/BH twin turbo models. It’s built to handle boost, heat and the tight packaging of the twin turbo setup.
Fits:
- Subaru Liberty / Legacy B4 BE/BH Revision A-C
- 1998-2001 models
- Twin turbo EJ206
Genuine Subaru part number: 14462AA201
Why Replace the Factory Inlet?
The original rubber inlet:
- Collapses under load
- Cracks and hardens with age
- Restricts airflow
- Is difficult to source new
On a twin turbo car, clean airflow matters. Any restriction before the primary turbo affects spool, throttle response and the turbo changeover. If you’re still running a 20+ year old intake duct, you’re leaving performance on the table.
Built for Boost
This isn’t a thin silicone sleeve. It’s made properly.
Construction specs:
- 4-ply polyester reinforced
- 5mm wall thickness
- Dual branch outlets: 63mm / 46mm to turbo feeds
- 2-piece design connected with joiner
- Designed to increase airflow over the factory duct
The reinforced construction resists collapse under vacuum and holds its internal diameter under load, so airflow into the twin turbo system stays consistent.
What You’ll Notice
- Stronger, cleaner turbo response
- Reduced intake restriction
- More stable airflow during sequential turbo transition
- A fresh, reliable replacement for an ageing OEM part
It won’t magically add 50kW, but it removes a known weak point in the BE/BH intake system, which matters on ageing twin turbo cars.
Ideal For
- Restoring a B4 properly
- Replacing cracked or soft factory inlets
- Engine refresh or turbo servicing
- Supporting future boost upgrades
Fitment Note
Designed for:
- Rev A-C BE/BH models, 1998-2001
- Twin turbo EJ206 engines
Always confirm your model year and revision before purchase. Rev D-E (2001-2003) cars use a different inlet.
Install Tips
Trimming the hose may be required during installation, specifically where the two hoses join in the middle (to the left of the PCV port). Between 5 and 7cm can be removed here to ensure a snug fit between the turbocharger inlets. Breather ports and other small hose offshoots can be trimmed if desired.
If you’re keeping your BE or BH on the road long term, replacing ageing intake components is part of the job. This is the right way to do it.
