Stop the bypass. Take control of your boost system.

The Roo Racing Billet BOV Delete Plate is a precision-machined, Australian-designed solution for Subaru turbo owners running a speed density tune or building a purpose-configured boost system. CNC machined from T6061 billet alloy, anodised black, and ready to bolt straight to your intercooler — with a built-in 1/8" NPT port for sensor integration.

Two designs available to suit the two common BOV flange profiles found across Subaru's turbo engine range. Check fitment before adding to cart.

The factory Subaru bypass valve (BPV) is an essential component on a MAF-based tune. If you're still running a MAF sensor, this plate is not for your car, and fitting it without the correct tune will cause fuelling problems, rough running, and potential engine damage.

This plate is for a specific and growing group of Subaru turbo owners:

  • Owners who have deleted their MAF sensor and are running a speed density tune
  • Builds where the factory BOV port is being repurposed for pressure or temperature sensor placement
  • Owners building a clean, purpose-configured intake system who need a sealed, machined solution rather than a blanked-off port with a rubber cap

If that's you this is exactly what you need.

THE TUNING WARNING

Fitting this plate without the correct tune will damage your car.

On a factory MAF-based Subaru tune, the bypass valve plays a critical role in fuelling. Every time you lift off the throttle, the BPV recirculates pressurised air back through the system and the ECU accounts for this in its fuelling calculations. Block that valve without retuning, and the system breaks down: the car runs rich on every gear change, boost builds uncontrolled, and compressor surge puts unnecessary stress on your turbo bearing with every throttle lift.

The correct sequence is:

  1. Delete the MAF sensor and associated hardware
  2. Fit the BOV Delete Plate and your chosen sensor
  3. Have the car tuned on a speed density map by a qualified tuner before driving it under load

This is not a shortcut to turbo flutter sounds on a stock tune. It is a precision component for a properly built system. If you're unsure whether your setup is appropriate for this plate, reach out before ordering we'd rather help you get it right than have you fit a part incorrectly.

PRODUCT FEATURES

  • Australian designed- engineered specifically for Subaru turbo BOV flange profiles
  • CNC machined T6061 billet alloy- the same material spec used in performance engine and suspension components. Dimensionally stable, heat-resistant, and built to last the life of the engine
  • Hard anodised black finish- corrosion-resistant, heat-resistant, and clean looking in the engine bay
  • 1/8" NPT threaded port and bung- ready to accept a temperature or pressure sensor without modification. Use it for intake air temperature on a speed density setup, boost pressure monitoring, or leave the bung fitted and keep the port sealed
  • Two designs available- covers both common BOV flange profiles found across Subaru's EJ and FA turbo engine range. Check fitment for your specific application before adding to cart
  • Complete installation kit included- correct fasteners and O-ring supplied. Everything you need to fit it is in the box

WHAT'S IN THE BOX

  • Roo Racing Billet BOV Delete Plate (design selected at checkout)
  • 1/8" NPT bung (pre-fitted, removable for sensor installation)
  • Fitment O-ring
  • Installation fasteners

No additional hardware required for installation. Sensor not included.

THE 1/8" NPT PORT — HOW TO USE IT

The NPT port is the feature that makes this plate genuinely useful rather than just a blanking solution.

Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor: On a speed density tune, accurate IAT readings after the intercooler are critical for correct fuelling. The BOV delete plate positions your IAT sensor exactly where you need it, in the pressurised charge air stream, post-intercooler. This pairs directly with the PT Motorsports MAF Delete and Intake Air Temp Sensor kit for a clean, complete speed density conversion.

Boost pressure monitoring: The port can also accept a 1/8" NPT boost pressure sender for gauge or data logging purposes, a useful secondary application for cars where intercooler pressure measurement is part of the data setup.

Not using a sensor right now? Leave the bung in. The port is sealed and the plate functions as a straight blanking solution until you're ready to use it.

COMPLETE THE JOB RECOMMENDED PAIRING

For the cleanest speed density conversion, pair the BOV Delete Plate with the PT Motorsports MAF Delete and Intake Air Temperature Sensor Kit.

The PT Motorsports kit removes the MAF sensor from the intake tract and replaces it with a correctly positioned IAT sensor, the final piece of the puzzle for a properly configured speed density system. Together, these two products give your tuner everything they need to build an accurate, responsive, MAF-free fuel map.

Roo Racing BOV Delete Plate- seals the bypass valve port, provides the IAT sensor location post-intercooler

PT Motorsports MAF Delete + IAT Sensor Kit- removes the MAF from the intake, provides inlet air temperature reference pre-intercooler

Together: a complete, clean, properly engineered speed density intake conversion ready for your tuner.
