Impreza GD/GG (2000–2007)

The GD/GG generation introduced a more refined and aggressive design while maintaining the Impreza’s rally heritage. Powered by turbocharged EJ-series engines, the WRX produced 250 hp, and the STI reached 280 hp. Key advancements included a 6-speed manual transmission in the STI and improvements to the all-wheel-drive system. This generation saw the introduction of the "Bug Eye," "Blob Eye," and "Hawk Eye" facelifts, each with unique styling updates. The GD/GG models also gained popularity in motorsports, further establishing the Impreza as a performance leader and leading to a strong aftermarket following.
